Our Musicians

With only one requirement, that members be approaching (very loosely interpreted) or over 50 years old, you can imagine the variety of playing experiences found among the New Horizons Band members. For some, the last time they played was in junior high or high school.  Then there’s a bunch who last played in their college bands. There are also a few who have been playing throughout their lives. And let’s not forget those ambitious folks who are fulfilling a life-long desire to play an instrument and have just begun playing with us.

Our members come from all walks of life, including doctors, teachers, accountants, home makers, artists, pastors, nurses, programmers, writers, business entrepreneurs, etc.  The bands membership generally numbers in the mid-sixties  with wind, keyboard and string players.  We do it because we enjoy it and want to share that joy with others.   As I was told when I joined the band..."if you're not having fun, you're not doing it right!"
